In addition to the form, you will also need to send your passport to the State Department.

The State Department receives thousands of overnight pasport requests each year. Because of their heavy volume, after submitting your documents, you should expect at least a month to pass before you get your materials back. It is important therefore to be sure to take care of this in time for you to travel. If you cannot wait for a month, you can also request expedited service. Asking for rush service, however, will cost you an additional sixty dollars.

When your pages arrive you can go ahead with your travels. So dont be worried about short time. Get priority passport pages and you will be on your way.

Death Knell for Ordinary Travel Agents

Z-airlines target ordinary travel agents. Only large agents to stay

hat the Airlines do not yet recognize is that the changes they arbitrarily implement would ultimately undermine their own credibility and existence. Anti Trust Laws, Competition Laws would eventually send them crawl on their knees.

After the incredulous “zero commission” or “Transaction Fee” model, these airlines have come up with TAP —Ticket Authority Process. It is
nothing but empowering Airlines to recall ticket stock from any Agent they choose. IATA’s age-old and time tested system is subverted.
Below is an analysis of TAP from an agent’s point of view.
TAP from different Perspectives
A) Technical & Legal Perspective
TAP is ill-conceived, illogical and ill-implemented.
The concept of TAP challenges the spirit of Airline-Agent relationship which IATA has strived to maintain healthily from the very inception. PSAA is meant to bond principal with Agent on the cushion of sound contractual terms. Principal can have authority over Agents only to the extent accepted by the Agent, not beyond. This should explain ill-conception.
During the currency of an agreement, variations of terms and conditions of the agreement have to be accepted by both parties. Principles of natural justice demand so. Concurrence of Agents has not been solicited prior to introducing TAP and thus the incidence of TAP turns illogical.
How TAP has been enforced defies procedural requirements laid down by IATA itself. Res 878 allows a Member to opt for General Concurrence subject to certain limitations. These are:

878.2.1 further mandates that statement of General Concurrence should be addressed to Regional Director, IDFS, ( GVA/MIA/SIN), should be completed by the desiring member, should be signed in duplicate and be deposited with IATA and that

- the statement shall mention the opted areas (1/2/3) and confirm issuance of “Certificate of Appoint” vide Res. 820 and that

- 878.2.3 mandates that a list of members appointing Agents by General Concurrence shall be published in the relevant Travel Agent’s Handbook. That explains ill-implementation. The means employed appear to be dictatorial in nature. In a country like India where ” Rule of Law” is the order, such procedures appear irregular diversions. B) Humanitarian Perspective

TAP is designed to invest unlimited and absolute authority on the Principal Airlines since they can, by their sole will, appoint Agents or fix limits of Ticket Stock. THERE ARE NO CRITERIA, MANDATE OR DIRECTIVES WHATEVER, STRANGELY ENOUGH.

Pet Travel – Holidays For All The Family

With the UK summer upon us, chances are youve already booked your holiday. Maybe you booked way in advance for a great price, or perhaps you plan on leaving it till the last minute to get a better deal only days before departure?

No matter how you plan to book your great escape, there is something very important you need to think about.

Where do you leave Bruno, the familys much loved pet bulldog?

Do you leave him at your Mums house where he is almost certainly going to be overfed? You return home and Bruno has to be put on a crash diet because hes clinically obese and crapping frequently. Your waste management system (you) simply isnt streamlined enough to deal with the extra load.

Do you leave him with your best mate Dave, who cant even look after himself? You return home to realise Dave didnt even know he was meant to be looking after the dog and Bruno evidently didnt get the plan either, seeing as he escaped via a hole in the fence and went on a doggy expedition for most of the week.

Or do you edge towards the third, unthinkable option; Dropping him off at the Kennels with a bunch of doggy strangers? Surely Bruno hasnt done anything too naughty to deserve such abandonment?

So, leaving him behind is not really an option. In case you were still reviewing your options, think about the kids!. They would shriek constantly for the entire trip and swear blind that they hate you – not really pleasant things to hear while youre on your well earned break!

You need to pack an extra bag for Bruno!!

Now for the difficult part: Pet travel. How do you transport your furry little canine friend to the holiday destination?

Here are just a few options:

  • Drive to Calais. Eurotunnel offers a reliable service from Folkestone (nr Dover) to Calais. Drive on the shuttle in Folkestone and drive off in Calais. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes, which is no time at all! Once youre out of the Tunnel, the open road is your oyster! Bruno can pop his head out of the window and watch the world go by, or sleep quietly in the back (whilst dreaming of his perfect holiday). You and the kidlets can have a whale of a time enjoying the start of your holiday adventure.
  • Jump on a Ferry. SeaFrance and Brittany-Ferries both offer a Ferry service to Calais. Drive aboard, relax and jump off about 1h 30mins later. Just make sure you find your sea legs – you dont want to turn green halfway across the Channel with no exit route.
  • Fly. With things like airport taxes and ash clouds, you can never be too sure how much youll be paying for a flight, or even if youll reach your final destination. Like BA from the A-Team, Bruno isnt a fan of flying.

By now youve probably decided your plan of attack?. Youve decided to take the car. Youll book tickets with Eurotunnel – its cheap, its quick and its super reliable!
