When in Wales do as the Welsh – and have a takeaway
As a dyed-in-the-wool English person, I have to confess a passion for the Welsh and for my trips to Wales. I love the isle of Angelsey, and the scenic routes through Snowdonia that I generally take when visiting friends. The people have great passion and are generally very friendly towards me, and moreover, the cuisine that is available is first class. So I was quite shocked recently when I read a blog post on the website of a leading takeaway supplier.
It seems difficult to understand, but it would appear that the Welsh are the most likely customers of takeaway food in the whole of the UK. If you want to spend your short breaks in Wales, you could follow the lead of many of the other members of the population and get a takeaway. Obviously this could be difficult if you have chosen to stay in one of the may holiday cottages in Wales, and fiind yourself in a place that is quite remote.
According to figures released by online takeaway giants Just-Eat, there has been a massive increase in the welsh ordering takeaway food online. The biggest consumer base is in the capital Cardiff, where enthusiastic surfers have been enjoying the online service from their local takeaways.
David Buttress, MD who was born in Cardiff said, It is good to see my fellow countrymen embracing the online ordering process and enjoying the unusual things to do in Wales. The huge growth in sales that we are seeing in Cardif is particularly pleasing, as I am a local to the area.
One takeaway company feeling the growth, is City Pizza on City Road in Cardiff. Mr Kakay, owners of City Pizza said, The volume of orders Just-Eat send us has always been impressive. Although I signed up to the business in 2006, it is only recently that I have noticed a huge increase in demand. I am really glad I joined the online service. It is very easy for our custromers, which makes life easy for me.
