The Mountain Village of Sagada
There is a beautiful and peaceful village located in the northern part of the Philippines and it is called Sagada. Because of its mountain location, it has natural wonders to offer any kind of tourist. And true enough, there has been a growing number of foreign tourists flocking to this lovely destination.
This favorite tourist destination can be found in Mountain Province in Luzon, the largest island in the archipelago. Sagada has a cold climate, much colder compared to that of the capital, which is Manila. Because of this thousands of tourists flock to this peaceful village during the summer months.
There are many sites that you can visit and things to do in Sagada. Some of these are:
1. Sumaguing and Lumiang Caves
Whether it is your first time to go caving or you have already been to quite a few caves, the Lumiang and Sumaguing Sagada caves will prove to be one of the best caves you have ever been into. These caves are connected and depending on your skills and physical fitness level, you can normally go from one cave to another in 2 to 3 hours.
2. Swim in the Bomod-ok and Bokong Waterfalls.
These are some of beautiful waterfalls in the Philippines. The Bomod-ok is the tallest of the two and is often refered to by tourists as the Big Falls. Bokong Falls, on the other hand, is much smaller and therefore is usually caled the Small Falls. You will have to walk through the rice terraces to reach both falls.
3. Experience good food.
A Sagada trip is never complete without trying the local food fare. There are many restaurants there, some owned and managed by foreigners who have called Sagada their home. Aside from the local cuisine, you can also get American, British, and French cuisine from some of the restaurants.
So if you want a nature adventure like no other, going on this kind of trip will prove to be one of the best trips you will ever have. Of course you need to know how to get to Sagada first. Experience the places, the food, and the people of this peaceful mountain village.
