The Acropolis
No one can miss this sight, not only is it standing on top of a hill, its also humongous. It should be your first stop regardless of your planned activity list. The pantheon at mid day is awe inspiring and at night you can catch a light and sound presentation retelling all of the ancient Greek gods.
Agora
Behind the hill of Acropolis, you will see the ruins of Agora, an open place in ancient Greece where many people gathered. Famous philosophers Plato and Socrates taught and deliberated here some 2,500 years past. On the west side of the Agora, youll find the Temple of Hephaestos; this impressive structure has been preserved really well. Some of the shrubs and trees in the area are as old as the ruins themselves.
Athens
Said to be the birthplace of democracy, hire a helicopter to see this wonderful city from the top. The tour takes around 30 minutes and flies everyday during daylight hours. This is a great way to see all the landmarks in Athens, and photographers swear that you will get no better pictures then those taken from the air.
National Archaeological Museum
This is where all the historical artifacts are stored. Full suits of armor, a replica of the Trojan horse, the war mask of Agamemnon, and more great 16th century relics are available for viewing. It is viewed by many as one of the greatest museums in the world.
Vindos Gorge
It is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the deepest gorge in the world. Once you reached the bottom, you will be introduced to the various flora native to the region. It can be quite cool at the bottom of this deep canyon, what with the steep sides that block the sunlight from reaching the foliage below.
