How About Working On A Farm While On Holiday In France?

Not everyone is going to like this but there are a lot of people who like to go and work on a French farm while they are on holiday in the country. Most of us automatically think of a beach somewhere when someone says the word holiday to them. I mean at the end of the day, isnt a holiday a time when we should be enjoying ourselves after working hard all year? But working on a farm in France for your holidays seems to be a popular choice for many people these days from the UK and other countries.

Apparently this trend for agricultural holidays in France was kicked off by the popular book, A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle. His book was all about getting away from it all to work on a farm in France and it has given plenty of people the inspiration to try it out for themselves by heading off to France for a working holiday. Few people though can afford to take a year off, like Peter Mayle, but they are compromising with a few weeks here and there. Of course, the French Tourist Board is delighted with the idea of foreigners coming to work on their farms for free; I would imagine that many farmers are similarly happy with the deal.

These days it is just so easy for people in the UK to nip over to France for a few days; we now have a handy tunnel connecting the two countries. It seems likely that these types of holidays will become even more popular as people find that they can be refreshing. It is no longer necessary for you to head off to a beach in order for you to come back feeling nice and relaxed from your holiday. You can actually get stress relief from working and as the saying goes A change is as good as a rest.

Today it has become a trend for more people to drive in their car over to their foreign holiday destination. Lots of individuals head straight to the south coast for theferry to france. Doing this means you dont have to worry about things like the channel tunnel prices. And what better way to get to France for some Calais shopping?
